Reverence to the warm, natural, arts and crafts period bathroom with modern upgrades, clean lines and functional layout.

Project Vision:

The original 1913 arts and crafts home in a suburb outside of Pittsburgh, PA had one full bathroom on the second floor with multiple upgrades over its life; resulting in layers of pink and green paint on the original woodwork, layers of linoleum and ceramic floor tile and outdated electrical and plumbing lines.

The project scope was to remove the entire bathroom, salvage & refinish the original woodwork, retain the original layout, update the utilities and restore it to a clean and modern arts and crafts, functional bathroom with new fixtures and custom woodwork.

Notable work included new pocket door wall framing, reinforcing of floor joists, installation and setting of a salvaged, period cast iron alcove tub, cararra marble sink vanity and custom oak base, carrara marble basket-weave floor and custom wall-to-ceiling oak pull-out shelving.
